Comment with “SHOWTIME!” and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post in your journal-of-choice with your favorite films of theirs.

[livejournal.com profile] chillibreath gave me:

** notes: This list comprised based on movies that these folks are *in* and which ones I can remember seeing, so 'fave of those I've seen them in' is probably more accurate. Mostly b/c I don't even *like* half of these people... I mean, Leo and Bale? Ugh. **

01. Hugh Laurie - Monsters vs. Aliens and Girl From Rio, Stuart Little's cute too
02. Leonardo diCaprio - er, if I *have* to pick, The Man in the Iron Mask
03. Christian Bale - ditto on the 'have to' - The Prestige
04. Mickey Rourke - Iron Man 2
05. Clint Eastwood - In the Line of Fire
06. Robert Sean Leonard - Much Ado About Nothing
07. Keanu Reeves - Much Ado About Nothing
08. Nicholas Cage - erm, the only movie I've seen of his is Con Air and that is not a fave
09. Bruce Willis - Death Becomes Her
10. Samuel L. Jackson - Iron Man 2 and Jurassic Park

01. Helen Mirren - I can't think/find a single thing that I remember her in
02. Emma Thompson - Much Ado About Nothing and My Father the Hero
03. Helena-Bonham Carter - Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
04. Wynona Rider - 1969, Dracula, Star Trek (2009)
05. Meryl Streep - Death Becomes Her
06. Geena Davis - Stuart Little
07. Renee Zellweger - Monsters vs. Aliens, and, well, *she* is okay in Chicago, but the movie itself blows
08. Julia Roberts - can't stand her, don't particularly like anything she's been in, 'cept Flatliners, but only b/c everyone else is awesome
09. Emma Watson - The Harry Potter movies, but only b/c she hasn't been in anything else.
10. Naomi Watts - er, the only thing I've seen her in is I Heart Huckabees and I don't remember enough about the movie to say it's a fave of any flavor.

imma not even tell you how many of these i had to imdb to find out what movies they're in...

Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Name 5 songs you love starting with that letter.

[personal profile] katernater gave me the letter 'M'...

Meet Virginia - Train
- This is the song that got me interested in Train. It's fun and sort of a story about a girl/woman who doesn't really fit into anyone's 'mold'.

Merry New York Christmas - Rob Thomas
- Yup, a Christmas song. What can I say? It's Rob Thomas singing a Christmas song. =)

Minnie the Moocher - pick an artist *g* (link is to the BFTV version)
- Specifically I like the Band from TV version, but I like others too. I blame Hugh Laurie, that's all.

Mad About You - Sting
- I'm a long-time fan of Sting and The Police. I like the rhythm and lyrics of this one.

Mockingbird - Rob Thomas
- This one's off his newest album and, pretty much, if it's Rob Thomas or Matchbox Twenty, I love it. Rob has an amazing lyrical ability.

I'd add 'honorable mentions', but the list would never stop. I have lots of 'M' songs. =)

Okay - just one - Man Like Me - Robert Downey, Jr - only b/c it was stuck in my head when I woke up this morning! Ack!

Pick 20 movies/anime/video games/literary works and put their summaries from Better than it Sounds (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BetterThanItSounds) and WITHOUT CHEATING have your friends guess.

I think coming up with the ones to use was harder than the guessing will be )

Okay - that took forever... stuff I like just isn't listed there. Wow.

Also - imma pull all comments over to DW so I can keep 'em together in one place. OpenID should work with no problems. =)

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

This is absolutely, totally and utterly the fault of [personal profile] katernater XD
( also, completed while eating Cookie Crisp XD )

Follow the cut for the pretties... )

and *now* imma go work on my puzzle...

meme what I stole from [personal profile] helens78

Here's a theme that goes "post your five favorite TV shows in no particular order, and answer questions!" This changes based on my mood, but we'll give 'er a go!

A. House, MD
B. In Plain Sight
C. Stargate SG-1
D. MacGyver
E. L&O:SVU

The questions and answers lie beneath )

And, god(s) help me, I'm watching another ep of SGU - how does one show suck so much? It just sucks all over the place - story, characters, set, camera - 'shaky cam' just doesn't do it for me. Even the aliens are awful. I kid you not, they look like stick figures, only blue.

Also - most contrived plot to get Rush back onna ship ever. Seriously? Was that the best ya'll could come up with? FAIL.

ETA: WTF? SGU? What the fucking fuck? ROB THOMAS as a closing montage? Please to be getting your suck off of Rob Thomas' awesomeness! NOW!! *cleans off "Now Comes the Night" so there's no more SGU suck on it and stores it in a shiny airtight container so this doesn't happen again*

Fic Scavenger Hunt Meme!

This is how it works. I leave five "clues". You respond with your five fics that meet the criteria of the clues and then leave a clue for me. The clues can be anything from "Your favorite fic" to "Fic in which the most characters died" to "A fic that includes both a threesome and a wrench."

1. Your fic with the closest word count to 1,662 words.
2. Your fic in the rarest fandom you write in.
3. The longest fic you've ever written.
4. The fic that's title starts with the last letter of your user name.
5. Fic written for your favorite prompt you've ever gotten.
6. Your fic with the longest title?

My Answers )

7. A fic inspired by/based on a photo?

I have Control written in Van Helsing fandom. The photo that inspired the work is there too.

I blame [personal profile] katernater -

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."

1. I blame MacGyver - The coolest game on Earth - I am a hockey fan. Specifically, a Dallas Stars fan, though I can watch just about any game that's on. It all started with MacGyver - who is a hockey fan - getting me all hooked on finding out about Wayne Gretzky. And if you want an intro to hockey, who better to watch than The Great One?

If I count correctly, the remaining six are beyond the cut )

I tag [livejournal.com profile] daniidebrabant, [insanejournal.com profile] ceruleanoctober, [personal profile] ariestess, [personal profile] danvers, [livejournal.com profile] rihani, [livejournal.com profile] sylveraven, and the first person to read this post who isn't one of the aforementioned. ...[livejournal.com profile] mpoetess, that also contributes to the 'post every day' thing...

1. Write down the names of 10 characters.

01. Connor MacLeod, Highlander
02. Allison Cameron, House, MD
03. Harry Dresden, The Dresden Files
04. Alex Cabot, L&O:SVU
05. Jack O'Neill, Stargate SG-1
06. Dawn Summers, BtVS
07. Van Helsing, Van Helsing
08. Stacy Warner, House, MD
09. Greg House, House, MD
10. Janet Fraser, Stargate SG-1

2. Write a fic of fifteen words or less for every prompt, using the characters determined by the numbers.

** NOTE: all ficlets assume all characters are of-age as of the time the fic takes place. The only one who falls in this category is Dawn, so assume she's graduated high school and made it through, at least, two years of college

Do NOT read the prompts before you do step 1!

Ficlet things are under here )

And now, I sleep. ZZZzzzzzz

... premieres tomorrow night.

This is an excellent thing.

However, I won't get to actually see it until about midnight, b/c I have to work. This would be the only thing that really sucks about 2nd shift. :(

But, I have the VCR all set (no, I don't have TiVO and I can't afford it anyway) and I'll be able to skip all the commercials, which is cool.

Needless to say, I'll be avoiding DW/LJ/IJ/etc until AFTER I watch it.

Also - there are still prompts available HERE if people wanna toss more ideas at me. =)

...[info] - personalkaternater made me do it -

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to answer these questions about yourself. At the end, choose 10 people to be tagged. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

so, like, you wanna know stuff? )

doing this one b/c i like to steal things from katernater =)

Look at your userpics list. If you have fewer than twenty icons, post them all. If you have between twenty and fifty icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. List them on your journal and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, the keywords you use and what significance it has.

This is the one time the LJ and IJ versions won't match )

As was demonstrated in an interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin is unable to name any Supreme Court case other than Roe v. Wade.

The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic, to your LJ. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.) For those who see this on your f-list, take the meme to your OWN LJ to spread the fun.

Miranda v. Arizona (consolidated with Westover v. United States, Vignera v. New York, and California v. Stewart), 384 U.S. 436 (1966), was a landmark 5-4 decision of the United States Supreme Court which was argued February 28–March 1, 1966 and decided June 13, 1966. The Court held that both inculpatory and exculpatory statements made in response to interrogation by a defendant in police custody will be admissible at trial only if the prosecution can show that the defendant was informed of the right to consult with an attorney before and during questioning and of the right against self-incrimination prior to questioning by police, and that the defendant not only understood these rights, but voluntarily waived them. - from wikipedia

I borrowed her 'rules' too:

The usual rules: First lines (excluding introductory bits) of twenty songs (random/shuffle, removing duplicate artists, removing instrumentals, removing songs not in English, removing ones where the first line gives the title). Comment with the artist/song for the ones you know, and the one who gets the most right gets a cookie. [I have lots of covers, so anyone who's covered a song will do.] Comments screened. Google is cheating.
