Hooray for the power company?
Apr. 25th, 2009 02:35 pmYeah - we'll call this a whole lot of 'no'. No idea what was going on, but for about twenty minutes, the power went - 'off, on, off, on, off, on, offfffffffffffffff, on, off'. At first I thought it was some jackass with uber-power tools having a field day with landscaping or construction or something. (I have strangely handy-man-like neighbors.) Then the power stayed off and neighbors to either side were jawing about the lack of power, so, okay, no big. I call the stupid power company and they say via pre-programmed recording, in effect, 'oh yeah, we know about the outage in [service area], we hope to have it resolved by 4:30pm'. Mind you I called around 13:30 and the power had started playing blinkie lights about half an hour before that.
Hello, power company - you are made of fail. Don't work on the damned substation on the weekend when ppl are typically home and doing things. Unless, of course, said substation was planning to explode later today, then, by all means. But, wouldn't that mean it was *planned* maintenance, thus a notice would've been nice? Yeah, you still fail.
Obviously it didn't take them until 16:30 - since my router doesn't work when the power is off. How lame is that? Geeeeeez. *g*
And now - dinner time!
