5 Things? 4 Maybe? I don't know -
Nov. 8th, 2009 08:51 pmThing 1: This - Gatecon 2010 will be the last - makes me sad. But only because it means there won't be more Gatecons to go to after this one. Not that I'd necessarily be able to go because I have plans to be in school for the next three years, but with this as the last one, there won't be the opportunity.
However, while I don't know exactly how much work goes into planning and running a convention, I am aware of how much work it is to make sure it keeps going, because I've been a part of that machine. I can honestly say, as a full-time volunteer, there is never a dull moment. Even when you're 'relaxing', there is always something going on.
The only question I have is - where the hell are we all gonna go to see each other now? XD
Thing 2: I really need to get on the ball and write my updated personal statement thingy for the law school application that I need to submit by 01 December 2009. Someone poke me about once a week about this one, okay?
Thing 3: This little piggy -> Archive of Our Own - is going into Open Beta very soon. There will be invites involved, but, well, you'll see when the announcement goes out. XD *is sneaky*
Thing 4: House, M.D. is back tomorrow after being not on for two weeks. Booooooo baseball that interrupts my tv! (Especially since hockey doesn't get aired on TV except on stations that I don't have... screw you ESPN/ABC! And thank you for confirming that my decision to not watch ABC was a good one.)
Thing 5: Speaking of hockey - imma going to a game in December! My team (the Stars) plays the 'Canes every other year now that the NHL switched up the schedule things and made stuff all weird and complicated. (I liked the old format better b/c I could see my team EVERY year, tyvm!) It'd be nice if they'd have it set up so that the Stars played the Caps at DC one year and the 'Canes at Raleigh one year, but noooooooo - they play 'em both 'away' in the same year and I can't manage two games each year. Maybe if I didn't have to drive as far and the games didn't always fall in the middle of the week! Bring back the old format!
I think that's about all for now... I was gonna write something else, but I don't wanna jinx anything - b/c my luck is just that good.
